It has been awhile since I have talked to you. The first thing I want you to know is that Chuck Olson Tours has moved. We are in the same building and on the same floor but in a new Suite. Our address now is Suite 203 rather than 205. The new office is smaller but we have cleaned out so much and we are so much better organized that is feels wonderful. Actually, isn't it wonderful that between time we move, whether our home or an office, we forget how much work it is?

Enid and I are hosting a Reunion Cruise on the Royal Caribbean Voyager of the Seas in 2009. The dates are Feb. 22-Mar. 1, 2009 and the ship sails out of Galveston, Texas. If you have been on Royal Caribbean before, come with us again. If you have never been on Royal Caribbean come with us for the first time. If you have sailed with Enid and me we really want to have you sail with us again. If you have never sailed with Enid and me, please come along. We will have a great time. We have arranged for our group to dine together. We will have a cocktail party and a special shore excursion for our group. We are also planning to have transportation to and from Galveston by motorcoach. The cost for this is $135.00, per person. We will have a great time on the trip, starting our party right here in the Valley. We already have a good group booked. Don't miss out.

All for this time. Let us hear from you. I will talk to you again soon.   Chuck

Hello, Everyone! Chuck asked me to write on his Blog today and tell you about my trip to Israel. I just returned on June 13 from a 9-day trip to the Holyland. There were 21 of us, the majority being from First Baptist Church in Harlingen. We flew into Tel Aviv and spent one night there. Then we worked our way up the coast to Caesarea, the ruins of which are spectacular. We spent two night in Nazareth, Jesus' boyhood home. We did sightseeing all around the Sea of Galilee and up to the border with Lebanon and Syria to Caesaea Phillipi. Next we drove along the Sea of Galilee and the Jordan River to Jerusalem, stopping so 5 people could be baptized in the Jordan River. We spent four nights in Jerusalem. We walked miles and miles. Jerusalem is very hilly and is filled with historical Biblical sites. We did a day trip down to Masada in the desert and several of our group floated in the Dead Sea on our way back. Being able to be in the land of Jesus was so exciting. I can tell you we did not have one moment of fear for our safety. Our hotels were excellent and our Israeli guide was outstanding. We are planning another trip to Israel, probably in 2010. Why don't you join us? Let us know of your interest.

If you have been listening to KURV 710 Talk Radio this week you may have heard Chuck advertising an Alaska Cruise August 23-30. This is the time of year when it is so hot here in the Valley and we are waiting anxiously for that first norther to blow down. This is just the time to cruise in Alaska. Actually, even if you are up north you can join the cruise in Seattle. See the Home Page for more details and call today to book your cabin.

Do you love classical music? Come with me to Round Top, TX, June 28-30 and enjoy 3 wonderful concerts. Click on that trip on the Home Page for more information.

My wife, Enid, will be leaving with a group for Israel on June 4. We still have room for 1 or 2 more to join us. What a great opportunity to "walk where Jesus walked". Again, click on that trip on the Home Page for all the information including an itinerary.

Many of you have asked about our grandson, 17 month old Caydan, who was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. He is doing very well and we appreciate all the inquiries and prayers. On May 30 Caydan will have a procedure to dilate the stent in his aortic artery. While this is fairly routine we know that any procedure or surgery has its risks. We thank you for your prayers.

We miss those of you who have "gone north". Remember, we can help you with all your travel needs, group, family or individual. We are only a phone call away.

Chuck

Hello, Everyone! This past week we had our Spring Mystery Luncheon. What a pleasant day we had. We started out with coffee and cookies at Southgate, where Enid & I live. The Clubhouse is a lovely place for such a function. A friend, Deborah Richardson, and I sang several duets accompanied by Mark Richardson, to entertain the group. Lunch was held in San Benito at Casa Rama Bed & Breakfast, a beautiful old house from about 1920 that is being renovated. The lunch was delicious and we enjoyed having Raul Guzman display and talk about his incredible ship models. Our next Mystery Luncheon will be in September. There will be limited seating so please let me know if you want to be included.

Have a wonderful weekend and let me know if we can help you with any travel plans. CHUCK

We have a new feature on our web site. Our plans are to give you information on what is going on in the world of Chuck Olson Tours and Cruises. I will be doing most of the blogging, but from time to time others in the office may be writing as well.

For those of you traveling after May 5th or so on most airlines, there will be $25 charge for your second checked bag. Those of you who are in the elite frequent flier clubs will be exempt from this charge.
I guess it pays to fly a lot to get a free second bag on planes today.

I'll talk to you later. Chuck Olson
